Adventure Training
In the area of adventurous training also, the RAF resources make the range and nature of what’s on offer unrivalled. A typical example is the adventure training week run by RAF Physical Training Instructors at Grantown-on-Spey, Morayshire, Scotland. Here, participants take part in expeditions, mountain biking, canoeing, caving and many other activities. Other training and courses available through the RAF include dinghy and tall-ships sailing, parachuting, para-gliding, skiing, sub-aqua diving, and a host of others.

Expeditions
YUAS itself organizes several expeditions each year, ranging from a few days in the wilder spots of UK to a couple of weeks in demanding overseas locations. These are in most cases initiated and organised by the students themselves, with support, advice and financial and administrative back up from the RAF’s specialist staffs. In addition to the many UK based events, overseas expeditions which have been undertaken recently by parties of YUAS students and staff have included:

Places Traveled
Skiing at Oberammergau in Bavaria
Sub-aqua diving at Grenada in The West Indies.
White water rafting in Canada.
Climbing Killimanjaro and trekking and assisting with the Imbaseni Project in Kenya and Tanzania.
